XL takes the Reference design further in matching. Network components are selected and matched more closely to the cable's electrical characteristics and length, and the network is calibrated to the specific amplifier, so every XL set is built for a named system. The network module is heavier and larger, with a thick carbon fibre sheet embedded in epoxy stiffening the acrylic platform, and the platform fasteners are torqued to a set value into the epoxy-loaded shell. Custom-machined tellurium copper spades on heavy OFHC stranding. Generation 6, handcrafted in the USA, upgradeable to Opus or Magnum Opus, with recalibration at no charge for the registered owner.
