The TD 1600 TP 160 pairs Thorens' legendary suspended-subchassis design with modern tonearm engineering. A classic wooden plinth, two-piece aluminium platter and precision-ground internal drive belt form the foundation, while the subchassis rides on three conical springs steadied by a tensioned steel wire. The 9-inch J-shaped TP 160 tonearm by Helmut Thiele features a magnet-stabilised knife-edge bearing and SME headshell interface, and the external TPN 1600 linear power supply delivers 2 x 16 V to the electronically controlled synchronous motor for outstanding speed consistency.
