The TAS 1600 is a low-output moving coil cartridge manufactured in Japan and developed specifically for the Thorens TD 1600 and TD 1601. A solid boron cantilever carries a Special Line Contact diamond stylus for exceptionally precise groove tracing and maximum detail retrieval. With 0.4 mV output at 5.5 cm/s and 12 ohm internal impedance, it is intended for high-quality MC phono preamplifiers with load impedance above 100 ohms, housed in a resonance-optimised aluminium body.
