The MU2 combines a music streamer, a reference-quality DAC and an analog preamplifier in a single chassis, built on Grimm Audio's conviction that smart integration of functions yields higher audio quality. At its heart is the proprietary discrete Major DAC, an FPGA-based design that pairs Pure Nyquist upsampling filters with an 11th-order 1.5-bit noise shaper. A relay-based analog volume control and both analog and digital inputs allow the MU2 to serve as the true hub of a high-end system, with a Roon server onboard so no external computer is required.
