The LS1v2 is a complete active audio system rather than a conventional loudspeaker, integrating digital signal processing, converters and amplification in one of the speaker's legs so it needs only an analog or digital line source to perform. An 8-inch magnesium woofer and 1-inch dome tweeter work from a 14-litre sealed enclosure suspended between two half-cylinder legs that combat diffraction. Computer Aided Calibration during production linearizes the frequency response, with controlled bass extension down to 35 Hz.
