The S-200 is a 200-watt-per-channel stereo amplifier from Audio Research's solid-state engineering team, a pure Class A/B design on a truly dual-mono platform with dual toroidal transformers feeding fully balanced circuits. Bipolar transistors were chosen over MOSFETs for their purity, transparency and dynamics. The machined aluminum chassis, available in black or silver anodized finishes, carries custom machined heat sinks and power output meters styled after the Reference amplifiers, rendered on a solid black background.
