The LS28SE draws on Audio Research's experience creating the Reference 160-series power amplifiers, with numerous costly component upgrades that elevate clarity, resolution, transient snap and sense of space. Four 6H30P dual-triode tubes form the line stage, and connectivity is generous, with four balanced and four single-ended inputs plus two sets of both balanced and single-ended outputs. Input naming, tube-hour metering, auto shutdown and home-theater passthrough are all directed through the menu, with phase invert and mono as standard functions.
