The S-100 answers founder Bill Johnson's demand that solid-state designs never fail to engage the listener. Like the S-200, it is a pure Class A/B design on a dual-mono platform, conservatively rated at 100 watts per channel and doubling into 4 ohms via dual toroidal transformers and a fully balanced stereo circuit, with bipolar transistors chosen over MOSFETs. The machined aluminum chassis in black or silver anodized finish features custom machined heat sinks with no visible fasteners from the front or top, and every unit is produced in the Minnesota facility alongside the Reference tube amplifiers.
