The Series M2-9R was developed by popular demand, bringing SME's design and engineering in a compact 9-inch package built by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. A detachable S2-R aluminium headshell on a double draw-pin bayonet fitting allows azimuth adjustment and cartridge changes without disturbing the wiring, while tungsten-alloy balance weight inserts in satin chromed brass sleeves accommodate an unusually wide range of cartridges. Internal constrained-layer damping renders the arm acoustically inert.
