The Model 8 is the entry point to SME turntable ownership, carrying 40 percent more mass than the Model 6 series it builds upon for greater stability and resonance control. Its plinth is CNC machined from a high-density polymer resin, its main bearing, spindle and drive pulleys are made to the same standards as SME's high-end decks, and its electronic speed control unit is derived from Model 60 technology. It is fitted with the SME 309 magnesium tonearm with removable headshell and Crystal Cable internal wiring as standard.
