The MK2 Model 12 is a high-mass, small-footprint precision turntable based on the award-winning Synergy, with every part made in-house at SME to the strictest tolerances. Its chassis and sub-chassis are CNC machined from aluminium billet, the sub-chassis suspended on an isolation system that carries the main bearing, platter and tonearm. A custom bi-phase AC synchronous motor is governed by a DSP-based speed control unit, and the deck comes complete with the SME Series Vi tonearm wired internally with Crystal Cable mono-crystal silver.
