The Model 404 is Moonriver Audio's Swedish-built integrated amplifier, the outcome of three years of research and hand-assembled in Sweden. It pairs a fully discrete preamp section with a dual-mono power stage fed by five separate power supplies, delivering 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms, with volume attenuation handled by the blue ALPS potentiometer. Its modular architecture accepts an optional MM or MM/MC phono stage and an optional DAC module, while classic touches such as balance control, a stereo/mono switch and a tape monitor loop are retained by design. The chassis pairs massive aluminium knobs with solid walnut cheeks, and through-hole components are used throughout the analog circuits.
