The MC901 is a monoblock unlike any other: a 300-watt vacuum tube amplifier and a 600-watt solid state amplifier on one chassis, purpose built for bi-amping a single loudspeaker. McIntosh's Hybrid Drive approach assigns the tube section, with eight KT88 output tubes, to the midrange and treble while the Quad Balanced solid state section drives the woofers. Each section has its own discrete power supply, and a DualView power output meter displays both at once.
