The LMC-5 is Luxman's moving coil phono cartridge, designed to retrieve the full measure of musical information pressed into the groove. Its MC generator uses a cross-mounted pure iron core within a compact samarium-cobalt magnetic system, and the vibration system pairs an aluminum cantilever with a Shibata line-contact stylus for excellent tracing ability. The aluminum housing was refined through repeated prototyping and listening.
