The L-509Z is the flagship of Luxman's Z-series integrated amplifiers, built on the company's "single-chassis separates" concept with fully discrete preamplifier and power amplifier sections, each running its own LIFES 1.0 amplification feedback engine. Volume is handled by the LECUA-EX electronically controlled attenuator with 88 steps, and the output stage uses three-stage Darlington bipolar transistors in a quadruple-parallel push-pull configuration. A 600VA EI transformer and eight 10,000uF filter capacitors anchor the power supply, and a built-in phono stage accepts MM and MC cartridges with two-step MC gain.
